September 21, 2022 | The Waterloo Morada Fire District awarded SAFER Grant for the Hiring of 3 New Firefighters
The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) is a federal grant created to provide funding directly to fire departments to help increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters.
This is great news for the Fire District and for the community. With this 100% FEMA funded grant (wages & benefits), we will be able to hire 3 more additional firefighters. This will add another first responder to Engine 2 per shift. Bringing our staffing level to 7 on-duty per day.
Stay tuned for an upcoming firefighter application/recruitment announcement.
