On May 4th, the Fire District hosted its 2nd Annual Firefighter Appreciation, Promotions, & Awards Dinner.
Special recognitions were presented for the following incident:
On October 21, 2023 the Fire District responded to a structure fire with a person trapped. Crews arrived and found a single-story, single-family dwelling with heavy fire coming from the front. There was a confirmed rescue and E152’s crew went into a rescue strategy, without hesitation.
Captain Culbertson received the Medal of Valor for putting his safety at risk to save another. Captain Culbertson entered a bedroom under hostile fire conditions using the tactic Vent-Enter-Search to rescue an unconscious victim. This was a true example of THEM before US!
